Innovation, excellence, relevance: These are the qualities that make UCSD’s Physical Sciences departments — Chemistry and Biochemistry, Mathematics, and Physics — major contributors to the rapid rise and growing reputation of the university as the hottest place in the country to study science.
Tomorrow’s scientists must be prepared to tackle complex and challenging problems using the best scientific tools available. Researchers in the Division of Physical Sciences are developing the tools of future discovery and cultivating the leaders who will use them to build solutions.
With your support, we can continue to champion initiatives that make our Physical Sciences division “the place to be” – for the most promising students, and for the scientific leaders who will shape tomorrow’s world.
You can help achieve our mission by supporting these efforts:
Your gift of $1,000 provides support for one Dean’s Undergraduate Award for Excellence to recognize an undergraduate student who has demonstrated extraordinary academic achievement.
Your gift of $5,000 provides the Dean, Physical Sciences, with discretionary funds to support innovation, address challenges, and take advantage of immediate opportunities.
Your gift of $25,000 supports a graduate student for one year in the Physical Sciences area of your choice: Chemistry and Biochemistry, Mathematics, or Physics.
Your gift of $50,000 endows an Undergraduate Scholarship designated according to your wishes.
Your gift of $125,000 creates a named Faculty Scholar fund that provides $25,000 per year for five years to help fund early research by a faculty member.
Your gift of $250,000 establishes a named endowed graduate fellowship in the Physical Sciences discipline area of your choice, allowing the Division to attract the most talented and dedicated students
Your gift of $500,000 establishes a named endowed chair in the Physical Sciences area of your choice, ensuring permanent funding for research and teaching activities
We also invite you to imagine what’s next with a gift to UCSD Division of Physical Sciences in any amount to the area you choose.
Thank you for choosing to support the Division of Physical Sciences. Making a gift before the end of the calendar year is important for many donors because of tax benefits. Gifts that are postmarked by December 31st of the calendar year will be acknowledged as charitable contributions for the current tax year.
ON-LINE: Gifts can also be made safely and securely online to the Division of Physical Sciences
