The Freshman Class of 2012 arrived last fall and the Division of Physical Sciences Alumni Affairs welcomed the new class with an ice cream social held in the Natural Sciences Building foyer on Monday, September 23.

Freshman received a Class of 2012 tin box as a momento from the UCSD Alumni Association. Celebrity Scoopers from the Division included Dean Mark Thiemens, Associate Dean Jeff Remmel, Chemistry & Biochemistry Chair Robert Continetti, Mathematics Chair Sam Buss, Vice-Chair of Education, Physics, Hans Paar, and Jane Teranes from the Environmental Systems (ESYS) Program. They were on hand to greet the new students and to answer any questions.

The students enjoyed making their own sundaes.
