Kevin Cummins: 1972, M.S., Chemistry
"I am now employed with the U.S. Dept of Labor, Occupational
Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) as a Senior Industrial
Hygienist. I work for the OSHA
Salt Lake City Technical Center and provide technical
support on safety and health matters for our Agency nation-wide.
My prior work with OSHA in Salt Lake was as a methods development
chemist for industrial hygiene air sampling methods."
David Malik: 1976, Ph.D., Chemistry
"I joined the faculty of Indiana University-Purdue
University in 1980 where I am currently Chancellor's Professor
of Chemistry. From 1990 to 2000, I was Chair of the Department.
I have won eleven teaching awards including the The President's
Award (of Indiana University) and the Chancellor's Award
for Teaching. I have published over 50 papers in chemistry
and academic administration, presented 75 papers at professional
meetings, and have organized over 20 conferences. I have
also received over $1 million in external funding from the
U.S. Department of Education to support programs at IUPUI.
I am also on the Society Committee on Education of the

College and Universities. The ACS is the largest scientific
society in the world with over 160,000 members.
On the side, I am a swimming official (referee) for United
States Swimming and the NCAA. This activity resulted due
to the two of my three children who have swum competitively."
