David Malik: 1976, Ph.D., Chemistry

"I joined the faculty of Indiana University-Purdue University in 1980 where I am currently Chancellor's Professor of Chemistry. From 1990 to 2000, I was Chair of the Department. I have won eleven teaching awards including the The President's Award (of Indiana University) and the Chancellor's Award for Teaching. I have published over 50 papers in chemistry and academic administration, presented 75 papers at professional meetings, and have organized over 20 conferences. On the side, I am a swimming official (referee) for United States Swimming and the NCAA. This activity resulted due to the two of my three children who have swum competitively."
