Courses in the Mathematics Education Minor are intended for students interested in understanding how people learn mathematics, including students interested in teaching and a plethora of other careers that involve communicating mathematical ideas to others, as well as students who are curious about how they can become better learners.
Courses in the Science Education Minor are intended for students interested in understanding how people learn science, including students interested in teaching and a plethora of other careers that involve communicating scientific ideas to others, as well as students who are curious about how they can become better learners.
Three majors are available to students interested in teaching—Mathematics Secondary Education Major, Chemical Education Major and General Physics/Secondary Education Major. Students in these majors are encouraged to take courses in the Math and Science Education Minors, but of course are not eligible for a minor in the same discipline.
